Hunsecker's Mill Covered Bridge

The bridge has a single span, wooden, double Burr arch trusses design. The bridge, which spans the Conestoga River, is 180 feet long, making it the longest single span covered bridge in the county. The design principle behind the Burr arch truss was that the arch should be capable of holding the entire load on the bridge while the truss was used to keep the bridge rigid. The original bridge was built in 1843 by John Russell.
