Moravian Church Square

The center for Moravian life and culture in Lititz, the square holds the Brother and Sister Houses (men and women were separated in the congregation) as well as the original church, erected in 1787. Across the square is Linden Hall an independent, college preparatory, boarding and day school for girls in grades 6-12. Founded in 1746, and acclaimed as the oldest girls' boarding school in the nation, the school has been continuously educating young girls for over 260 years.

Across the street is Lititz Museum And Mueller House -- Johannes Mueller was a Lititz tanner and dyer as well as an early Moravian Church member whose stone house was built in 1792. Today it serves as the Lititz Historical Foundation and is furnished with period items. It contains a museum store and treasures of Lititz’s past.

And across the street and just down the block you will find Sturgis Pretzel House -- Julius Sturgis established the nation's first commercial pretzel bakery. The tiny bakehouse that was built in 1784 in Lititz grew into a large factory and set the pretzel-making industry into motion.
